Hiring a date for the occasion — explained

What to expect at your first event with a hired date

3 min read

You meet somewhere public before the event and run through the brief. Then you arrive together, the occasion happens as planned, and the evening ends at the agreed time. Nothing in it should surprise you, or anyone in the room.

Before you arrive

You meet at a café near the venue, or at the venue itself, about half an hour before you are due. You go over the names, how you met, and anything to steer clear of.

At the event

She is a good guest: she talks with the people at your table, follows your lead, and gives you room when you need to work the room. Small changes on the night are fine when you both agree.

A man in a white shirt and his date, a woman in a trench coat, talking as they sit on seaside rocks in the low evening sun.
A dinner in another city, with a local at your side.

When it ends

The evening ends at the time in the plan, and she leaves as arranged. Nothing continues after, and nothing about the occasion is romantic or physical at any point.

Frequently asked questions

What if someone asks how we met?

Use the answer in your brief. Simple and close to true works best: "through friends", "we met in town".

Will she dance?

At a wedding, a group dance on the floor is fine if she is comfortable; slow dancing as a couple is not part of the service.

Do I pay anything on the night?

The rest of the price goes to her directly, and besides that only the costs you agreed to cover, such as a taxi. The advance is paid against our invoice when you choose a companion.
